Happy Birthday to YOU!

HELLO long lost blogging friends!!!
Sure hope everyone is doing well on this blazing hot Wednesday. Okay, so getting this house together has taken WAAAAYYYY more time than I anticipated or wanted. But... it is looking more like a home. We just finished the kitchen which required one coat of primer AND two coats of paint... ugg.. we did not skimp either we bought the good stuff from Porter Paint!! Oh well it looks great now. we still have the living room to go.. but I am hanging my painters hat up for a while. anywhoo.............. i have gotten in some play time!! here is one of the first cards i have made in a very long time. I already had the poofy flowers made from around Christmas time. I decided to use them up on this 5x7 card. The heart punch is from fiskars. the blue vinyl letters are the paper studio. not sure about the black polka dot paper. and the happy birthday sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. Thanks so much for visiting me. sorry it has been so long. I am so excited to check out everyones blogs that i have been missing. Have a GREAT night!
Cheers

Happy Birthday To You

Hola! How is your Wednesday? Hope life is treating you well. I certainly cannot complain. We had chocolate chip pancakes for dinner tonight! YUMMY! Yes ma'am life is good.
So here is a little card I made. The bottom pink paper is embossed with white embossing powder on Raspberry fizz cardstock (PTI) that I had left over from a project last year. And PTI Damask stamp set. also used PTI Raspberry Fizz Mix and Black Patterned Paper. The large Damask is from the same stamp set as well as the sentiment. Threw on some bling for fun. Oh, and the base of the card is Soft Stone also PTI. Well folks, I need to get busy. Thanks for the visit!
Cheers!

Hi Everyone!! Happy Beautiful Sunday. It is a cold one here. but not as bad as it has been and the sunlight feels sooooooooooo good! We just got back from lunch with my daughter in law celebrating her 26th birthday. We went to Cock of the Walk had some yummy catfish!!! i LOVE fried catfish however...I have spacers on my teeth getting them ready for braces on Thursday. O.M.G. my mouth HURTS I could barely chew. It has been like this for about 3 days now. I cannot imagine how big of a baby I will be when I actually get the braces on! I tell you what though. I have already lost a couple of pounds! HA what a way to loose weight! Anyway, enough about me. Here is another Valentine day card I made last week. THANKS FOR LOOKING!

Big Flirt

Helloooooo! Happy Thursday! wooohooo weekend ...i can almost taste you!! Hope all is well, I know I am extremely happy to be safe and sound at home. Nashville got our first snow this year. it was really built up all over the news that we were going to get a whopping 2 inches and i think we ended up with MAYBE a 1/4 inch BUT it was slicker than i dont know what. The roads froze pretty quickly and on my way home from work today my car slid and did a donut!! HA thank goodness I did not hit anyone or anything. there were a couple of cars around but thankfully they did not get in my way. I thought FOR SURE I was going to get one of them. The good Lord was with me I guess. Scared the pee out of me though...(almost! LOL)
Okay so for todays card. I copied another layout and I dont know if i copied another one from Melissa Phillips or not, it could have been cased from Card Trends Magazine. SO SORRY. For a few of the up coming Valentines day cards I used stickers from Reminisce called Flirt. Got them half off at my LSS. This one I used the sticker Big Flirt. Made a background design (on top of the Spellbinders Label 4) with my super duper Cricut cart Home Accents then made a swirly with Cricut Home Decor. I dont know who makes the tree branch looking paper, it was some scraps I had. The red heart paper is Cosmo Cricket. Then added some tiny CTMH paper flowers and some tiny pearls from The Paper Studio. Okay kiddos, I am going to go relax in a really hot bathtub and read a scrappy mag. Have an awesome night!
Cheers!

Purple Butterfly

HAPPY MONDAY!!! wooohooo....we made it. Made it through Monday! Hope all is well with you.
I was totally inspired to copy one of Dawn McVeys cards. I loved the big butterfly. I decided to change the color to purple. The butterfly I used was cut using the Hannah Montana Cartridge (have i said i love that cart before LOL) The small butterfly is the Martha Stewart punch. Good Luck sentiment is from PTI Mega Mixed Messages. The embossing down at the bottom was used with the American Crafts Purple Metallic Embossing Powder and PTI Damask Designs. I threw on some pearls from The Paper Studio and some Plum Pudding ribbon from PTI. OH the polka dot paper is PTI Bitty Dots in Lavender Moon. Hope you enjoyed. Have a great night!!

Adore and some tidbits

HI!!!! Well, i am still alive after the 10K run!!! OMG it totally wore me out though. My daughter took some before and after pics and I was too ashamed to show the after pic (after got home and showered) I looked like I had been beat half to death! LOL I ran 6 miles in just under 1 hour and 20 mins. That to me is a little slow because my husband is a marathon runner but hey... I had never ran more than 3 miles so it was an accomplishment. My daughter took the pic above of me running past the finish line. I was wonderful and can hardly wait to do it again.
Then WICKED was absolutely AMAZING! The props and acting, everything was superb!
I did hear two ladies behind me saying that they saw Wicked in St Louis and it just did not compare to Nashville, they said Nashville was tons better.
Now...on to my page. This is of course Grace while we where in Florida. I had actually scrapped this pic in one of Dawn McVey's color challenges but HATED the layout. So I re did it and LOVE this one. The base page is The Angel Co, polka dot paper is Jennie Bowlin (LOVE her stuff). The striped paper is DCWV. The flowers and lace is The Paper Studio as well as the flat pearls and brads. I swiped White Pigment Ink across the pink paper and also the Clear Cardstock from PTI that I placed over the photo to make a border around the pic. The little butterflies were punched with Martha Stewart punch. And the Adore was cut using my beloved Cricut and the Home Accents Cartridge. Well thanks so much for your visit today. I hope you come back!!!
Cheers!

Beach Walk

Hola!
Got a scrap page to share with you today. While I was searching for my vehicle, I did not have much time to craft. This was a page I did shortly after we got back from Panama City Beach, FL
This is Grace and my mom and me and Grace, and me and mom walking on the beach. I was totally inspired by a layout in Scrapbook Trends Magazine. The patterned paper is Jenni Bowlin Studios, I sewed around the edge of the blue polka dot. I used some fabulous The Paper Studio flowers and nothing else than my Cricut for little leaves border that I cut out using PTI Hibiscus Burst, Tied some Hibicus Burst ribbon around some flowers. I also used the Cricut for the Lemon Tart Bracket Border. I used American Crafts Foam Stickers for the word walk. Then stamped the word beach with PTI Fresh Alphabet in CTMH Heavenly Blue ink. Thats it for now folks. We are getting ready to head over to the Wilson County Fairgrounds to turn in our entries for some contest. I am entering a scrapbook page and a card. Grace is entering a photograph and a necklace and a bracelet she made. I will let you know the outcome in a couple of weeks after the fair is over. THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT!! Enjoy your Saturday!
Cheers!

A Little Over The Top??

Hey there folks! Hope your Tuesday has been a good one. So have you ever started adding bling to a project and just kept going, and going, and going??? LOL I think I went a little crazy here. The polka dots were made with gold embossing powder. I totally did not want to do that. I had something totally different in mind, like flourishes, so after I embossed them I was like, wait, I meant to emboss flourishes. LOL have you ever done that, intended on one thing and kinda forgot what you were doing and ended up with something else? Please tell me I am not the only one! LOL. Anywho, I also did not intend to use two birds. I cut them out in different sizes to see which one i would like best for the card. I also did not intend to make a 5x7 card but again, i dont know what happened. I guess this just WANTED to be made?!?!? Anyway I have no idea what I will use it for 50th anniversary? dont know of any of those coming up anytime soon. Wedding? Surely this is too much for a baby shower? Let me know if I missed an occasion this card could be used for. Thanks! and thanks for stopping by here today!
Cheers!

Hi There

HI! Hows your Thursday? Mine is awesome because it is actually my FRIDAY! wooohoooo! So first of all thanks so much for coming to visit my blog-o today!! I would like to share this cute little Ketto that my super friend Gina let me use. Isn't she the cutest little thing! Gina also let me use some of her Copic markers to color her in. That Gina is something else I tell ya. I started out with the SCS sketch challenge SC234, paired that with Heidi Grace patterned paper and Heidi Punch Board. the cardstock is PTI White and Plum Pudding and PTI Plum Pudding ribbon. That sweet little button is Favorite Findings and the little gems on her crown are The Paper Studio.
I am so looking forward to tomorrow, my daughter and I are finishing up her school shopping and doing lunch. We will spend most of the day at Opry Mills Mall. I love having days like that with her. She is such a girly girl and I LOVE that! Hope you enjoy YOUR Friday!

Beautiful Girl

Good Friday Morning to you all!!! Sorry for no posts in 4 days. I have had a really busy week with work and such. Now to play catch up time. I do have one more scrapbook page to share with you. Hope all you card people don't mind. This is my daughter Grace at our recent trip to Florida. I love her so much and cannot believe how fast she grows. She is always so kind enough to let me take photos of her. My niece was in Florida too and she would not let my sister take any pictures. I guess because Grace has grown up with a camera in her face she doesn't mind posing for me. Anywho here are the deets of the page. Thanks so much for your visit!!!!!
Cheers!

We Love This Kid

Greetings! Hope you have enjoyed your Monday. Mine was not too shabby. Found out today that our entire office is being treated to dinner at Stoney River on Wednesday. I have never been there before but heard it is absolutely fabulous so I cant wait. Besides taking dear daughter school shopping this weekend (gosh summer break goes by so fast) I got some scrapbooking finished. Loved every minute of it. I don't scrap enough. Anyway, I got the basic layout idea from Scrapbook Trends Magazine. I love these bright pics of Logan aka grand baby.
He is so sweet and so much fun. I just love his tiny fat fingers and toes. Thanks for looking!

Crown

Good Friday Morning!!!! I got to sleep late this morning woooohooooo!!! It was so nice. Now a quick post and some house cleaning then I will be on my way to a great day. Yea me! This is the last card of the 5x7 that I made. I am sure this will end up being a Happy Birthday card for one of Graces friends but have not decided yet. I got out the trusty Cricut to make the crown. IRL it shimmers, all of it, the card stock and the bling on the crown. The cardstock base is American Crafts Vanilla, The patterned paper is DCWV. The purple is Stampin Up and I cannot for the life of me think of what the name of it is. I also used SU Barely Banana and PTI Shimmering Silver. The ribbon is PTI Plum Pudding and the bling is The Paper Studio rhinestones and pearls. Thanks so much for looking and I hope you like it. In my craft room this weekend I plan on scrapping pages. See you later!
Cheers!

Flower Girl

It's Saturday!! My favorite day of the week. That is because we are all home together, usually, but not this Saturday. Hubby had to work out of town yesterday and today. But he will be home tonight! Yea! I missed him. Look at this ca-ute little girl. My dear friend Gina let me stamp her and use her Copics to color her! (you are so good to me thanks girl!) I used TAC patterned paper and cardstock. I love thier patterned papers. The sketch is from Mojo Monday week 76. The flowers are paper flowers from CTMH and I added a little bit-o-bling in the center by The Paper Studio. My daughter just lost one of my owl stamps, I need to find it ARRRGGG! Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an awesome day!

Dance

HI There!!! I am sooo happy today. A girl at work sold me her barely used Cricut for $50.00, heck yes that is right $50.00 she has only used it just a hand full of times!!! I was crazy at Christmas time last year and traded my Cricut for a Straightening Iron. The thought behind that was the cartridges are kinda expensive and I did not have one that I liked. WELL... now Cricut has been coming out with some super duper cute ones, So I HAD to have another Cricut. I like to shop around for the best deal, and waited it out,and finally she just popped up one day and say hey, you are a scrapper, i am getting rid of stuff, i am going to put the Cricut on Craigs List..My ears perked up...what do you think about $50.00 i screamd SOLD! and that was the end of the story!! I have already bought Home Accents cartridge on ebay for $28.00!!! and CANNOT wait to play this weekend. Yea ME!! So what does this page have to do with Cricut? Nothing... I just wanted to share my bliss!!!! Thanks for listening.
you know what though, I think I did use Stacey's Cricut to cut out the dark blue star. This is Grace at one of her dance competitions. That is her with the HUGH surprised look on her face when they one first place in one of their dances!! So cute. I used more of the Starburst paper pack from CTMH. A Stampin' Up! star punch. Creative Memories circle punch. The Paper Studio rhinestones and flocked letters. Oh and Fiskars Threading Water Punch. Thanks for the visit!
Cheers!

Spring Inspiration

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!!!!

I hope everyone gets a chance to play in their scrap rooms today. It is a super rainy day so it is just perfect for scrapping and card making. This first project I wanted to work on this morning is the challenge at PTI. See Nichole's blog for info. I chose Kelly Lunceford's Challenge of the purple Tulips. I do not have any Tulip stamps so I worked with what I had. For the green in the stems and leaves I used Spring Moss, the purple I used Plum Pudding and I pulled out a little bit of the grey from the photo using Soft Stone. It seemed to need something else so I added a few flat pearls by The Paper Studio. The Sentiment is Heartfelt Basics and the flower is Garden of Life.
The scallops were made using Fiskars Apron Strings punch. So there you have this is how I was inspired. Thanks for looking! Have a awesome day!
Cheers!

Graduation 09

Haaaapppy Monday! Can you believe school is almost out? Kids are getting ready to graduate??? Including my step-daughter Hannah! Oh, my she was only 3 years old when I met her and now she is 18 and graduating High School. Gosh, it goes by so quickly. This is not the card I made for her but it is one someone bought from me. The patterned paper is The paper Studio and the very light grey is new PTI Soft Stone and I used PTI Black. The 09 is a stamp from CTMH called Rustic Numbers. I cut them out then embossed with Ranger Distressed embossing powder, it is pretty neat-o as it has a grainy/sandy texture. Super quick but my friend liked it alot. I have a few extra minutes today so I am gonna play in the Happy Place. See you again tomorrow hopefully. Thanks for your time!!! Have a great night.
Cheers!
