Simple Pleasures

Happy Rainy Thursday Morning!
sure seems to have been raining a lot around here, hence the bad pictures lately. I took another challenge from the good folks at SCS this one was a card sketch (SC187). I decided to play with the scrapping kit Simple Pleasures from CTMH. It is just beautiful in my opinion. Probably my favorite kit. I used the stickers in the kit for the main image and the panels. I did put the stickers on distressed cs for the panels. I distressed around the edges of the main image also with Cats Eye chalk ink. The sentiment stamped in the middle is from SU Happy Harmony. Then dream is stamped with PTI Simple Alphabet, put SU Hodgepodge book plate around the image. That is pretty much it. Fun card to make and super simple when it all comes it a nice little kit! Hope you enjoy your day. My vacation days are going by soooo quickly :-(
Cheers!

SCS Color Challenge

Good Morning!!!!!!!!!

Today's post is a challenge from SCS yesterday. I had to use the closest colors that I could find as I did not the original colors. But these are VERY close. I used PTI Polka Dot Basics for the background stamped onto Stampers Select white card stock also by PTI using Cameo Coral and Creamy Caramel ink from SU. I stamped the snail from CTMH Fun Times using Cameo Coral from SU. The sentiment is from PTI Pond Life. I bent the sentiment a little to fit into the scallop Marvy Punch. LOVE that about clear stamps. Got out the cuttlebug for the band. The flower is a paper flower from CTMH that I sponged on Cameo Coral ink. I threaded a button with ribbon and stuck it in the middle of the flower with a glue dot. This was a fun card to make. I love having the colors already picked out for me. It seems to make the card process move a lot faster. Anyway thanks for coming to visit today!

Christmas in July OCCC

Hello Peeps! Took a challenge today from over at Our Creative Corner with Christmas in July. How fun it was to think of cold when it has been smoldering HOT outside. I decided to make a
money holder card. I sometimes like to give cold hard cash rather than a gift card. For this one
I used CTMH New England Ivy textured card stock I love it because on the reverse side it is a lighter shade. I stamped with CTMH White Daisy pigment ink using Vintage Christmas stamp set. Used the old tried and true pinking shears to cut a decorative boarder around the main image. Used SU hodgepodge hardware to hang the tag. On the inside I stamped with CTMH Peace on Earth. It really wont be long before Christmas have you noticed some stores are ALREADY putting out Christmas merchandise? Sheesh! Thanks for coming by today. Hope you are inspired now to make a Christmas project.
Cheers!

More Vellum

Happy Sunday Crafty McCraftersons!!!
I continue to work with vellum and PTI. This time I used the Floral Frenzy stamp set. I also used the sketch from TayloredExpressions it is a fun little sketch. I used PTI Berry Sorbet, Spring Moss and Aqua Mist card stock and ink. I used the base of the flower stamp, inked it up and stamped onto Linen Vellum then used CTMH Black and stamped in that circle image the
flower image. Then punched out in two sizes using the CM circle punch. Then stamped the sentiment onto a piece of Linen Vellum that I matted onto Berry Sorbet. The sentiment is one long stamp so I stamped it 3 times inking only the part I wanted at a time. I love these happy colors together and cannot wait to send it to my friend. Thanks for looking. Enjoy your day!!
Cheers!

July PTI Blog Hop

Thanks for checking out my entries for the PTI July Blog Hop. Man was this ever a challenge for me. I am not a vellum user. It just intimidates me. So here is my feeble attempt. I decided to post both of these because the both took a lot of time and deserve their 15 mins of fame! LOL
card one uses Boards and Beams and Guidelines. I did stamp the house on the linen vellum (New this month at PTI) but you cannot tell from the pick mostly because I also layered a traditional piece of vellum over it to soften the colors. By the way the linen vellum is very kewl. It accepts ink so well and it is very sturdy yet still transparent. I colored the house with CTMH markers. I love coloring the houses in this set. The second card I made with PTI Plum Pudding and Lavender Moon. I again used linen vellum and ran a piece through the cuttlebug in two different folders. I stamped on another piece of linen vellum in Plum Pudding using the Bird of a Feather set then turned it over for the more muted look. Completed the sentiment on regular vellum with silver dew drops. Thanks again for stopping by. Please be sure to check out all the other entries get the addresses on the PTI forum.
PS: another super big challenge today was taking a decent pic. It was ranny today here in Nashville. So the pics are not good. sorry!
Cheers!

Wise Owl

OOOOOO, the new Wise Owl stamp set from Papertrey Ink is soooooo awesome. The stamps come in sets of eyes, beaks and bellies. How flippin' fun is THAT! I just love this little guy. This is the very first project I made with him. So stay tuned as there will be more...lots more. I also used the super-d-duper Guidelines set to make my own patterned paper with the scrumptious
Summer Sunrise that I {heart} so much. I also used PTI White and CTMH Chocolate. I punched out the photo corners with the SU punch. And tied it all together with SS ribbon. WHOOOHOO!
Thanks for visiting today. Next up will be a project for the PTI Blog hop on Friday. FUN STUFF!
Cheers!

Our Creative Corner Challenge

Happy Tuesday ya'll! I wanted play along again with the Our Creative Corner girls and the challenge this week is to use dry embossing woohoo. Click on the link above and it will tell you all about it. I also got this super duper sketch from iheart2stamp who has some awesome sketches.

I have been wanting to play with a new set I got from CTMH called Doodle Art. It is a bunch of fun little doodle art stamps that I can so see my daughter actually doodling on her notebook paper. I also used CTMH patterned paper pack called School Zone. I ran the Sunflower cs thru the cuttlebug with the circles folder and a piece of Outdoor Denim that I ran through a star embossed image but you cannot see the embossing on that piece in this pic :-(

The White paper was CM that is already lined but I went over the lines with a blue pen (CM)

and made the red margin line with a red (CM) pen. Made the notebook punches with the SU punch. The two brads are alphabet letters I got at Joann once upon a time and cannot remember the maker maybe it is a Joann brand?? This is a very busy card. But I wanted to give the doodle art a go so there it is. TFL dont forget to check out the OCC challenge.

Papertrey Ink Happiness

Hello Everyone!! Oh what a great week-end. I sure hope you enjoyed yours too. Although I did not have as much time to play in the "happy place" as I wanted I still managed to get in a little bit. Here is one of the cards I made. I finally broke out my new Papertrey Ink Guidelines and paired it with The newest Floral Frenzy. Let me tell you that I friggin' {heart} those guidelines. I
so simple to use and a pattern really comes together lickity split. I used my favorite color combo
Summer Sunrise and Lemon Tart. I also FINALLY got some of PTI Stampers Select White cs. Holy Mother of Pearl. This stuff is awesome. It takes ink so well and it is so thick. I am in LOVE.
I stamped my flower in CTMH white daisy pigment ink and it took so well to the PTI Kraft cs too. OH and let me tell you how much I also love the Kraft cs. When I ordered it I thought "how can it be much different from other Kraft cs" Well, put me in my place because it is FAB-O!!. For the inner yellow I used Memories Direct pigment ink daubers, really neato ink I got off of QVC once in a moment of weakness. The hardware is SU antique hardware. I hope you enjoyed this card. I will have part 2 of it tomorrow or next. Thanks for coming to see me!
Cheers!

Baby Shower Gifts

Okay, I have shown most of the items I have made for Baby Logan. Now I have it all packaged up and ready for the mom to be to open. I did buy her some things on the registry. So all together here I think may be excessive. But hey, I'm gonna be the grandma (YOUNG GRANDMA) so why not be excessive. Anyway one of my most favorite ways to present a gift is to personalize a plain gift bag. This one was super simple. I used blue paper with brown polka dots (My Minds Eye???) Then I scalloped some brown card stock to add interest. I used PTI just hatched stamps and PTI Bitty Baby Blessing stamps for the green wrapping paper. Then I also used SU tag punch stamp on the green also. By the way that green wrapping paper I got for $2.00 at Michales on clearance it is by Martha Stewart and it is wonderful. Very thick and embossed too. Well, I need to be on my way now. I hope mom to be likes all that I made.
thanks for visiting today. Hope you enjoy your Saturday!!!

Elegance

Hola! Thanks for stopping by to see me today. I wanted to share one of my most recent
creations. I love the look of cream and gold it is just so elegant to me. I also have fun (most of the time) embossing. for the background I made used two different cuttlebug folders for the dry embossing. Then I heat embossed in gold the sentiment by PTI Birds of a Feather and the tree
from SU Lovely as a Tree. I matted the background and the sentiment in the awesome thick
metallic gold paper from SU. I bought the ribbon for like .69 cents a roll after Christmas at Joann (woohooo) what a bargain! That is pretty much all to this little gem. I hope everyone is preparing for a super weekend! Grace will be going to Pop and Nana's house for the weekend. So I have a
couple of date nights with hubby!! YEA.
Oh and Saturday is the baby shower for Heather and baby Logan!!!! Only 4 more weeks to go
until he is here! Oh, I cant wait to kiss is little face!

Rock Star

Afternoon Peeps!
Hope you all are having a GREAT day. Mine is good now that the work day is over ;-)
My stepdaughter Hannah will be turning 18 at the end of this month WHAT!!!!!
when the heck did that happen?? I have been with her since she was 3!!!! WOW time
flys. Well I want Hannah to have a great 18th birthday and while I REALLY don't want
her to "party like a rock star" I do want her to have a most FAB b-day. This card was
fashioned after a card I saw in Paper Crafts magazine. I changed it just a tad. I found
it very fun and playful. I used the new Guide Lines set from Papertrey ink, OOOOOOO
I {heart} that set!!! used Creative Memories and SU Star punches. Used my Fiskars
pinking shears. I used CTMH Friendship Word Puzzle, Romantic Backgrounds on the
stars and "party" from Celebrate set. PTI stamps used were simple alphabet. SU Carte
Postale. Paper used CTMH Citrus,White Daisy, SU Rose Red, CM patterned (red). I do
not know who made the Black paper, I used the cuttlebug with the "your not the boss
of me" font for my letters. I had a great time making this card and now inspired to make
similar cards. Hope you are too. Have a great tomorrow. THANKS for coming to see me!!

Jennifer Meyer who has some great sketches to get the creative juices flowing. I just had to
use pink. I have been making baby boy things for a while (only 5 more weeks..woohooo).
I still love the brown and pink combination. In this card I used PTI Sweet Blush and Vintage Vanilla cs and SB ribbon, CTMH Adorable Pattnered Paper and SU Chocolate Chip. The stamp
set is also SU I'm Here. I inked all the edges with Cats Eye chalk ink. The ink used was CTMH
Chocolate and SU Pretty In Pink. Thanks for coming by today. I will have a bit more to show you

Friend

Poor Sister is still in the hospital. One of my scrapping pals. Bless her. She is actually Tina's
sister but I like to call her Sister too. Anyway. I had already made this card but thought this
one might cheer her up a little. I love the bling around the word friend. I THINK the bling is
Paper Studio from Hobby Lobby. Everything else is CTMH. Honey, Crystal Blue and Colonial
White CS and ink. The floral stamp is Beloved Blossom and the Friend sentiment is Say it with
Style. I used a corner round with the guard off for the scallop piece and SU oval punches for
the friend piece. Very simple but it was fun to make. I hope you are better soon Sis!!

Red Rover Red Rover...........

...send Gina right over!!!! Yeah my friend Gina came over Thursday night and we made the cutest onesies with transfer paper. Click on the link to see the onesies Gina made over at her blog. It was fun to experiment. We started out coloring with Prismacolor Markers but the marker started to pull up the paper a little. I wanted to color more so I tried it again today and discovered plan ole CTMH markers worked GREAT! (Well for this kind of transfer paper anyway) I wonder if it had anything to do with the alcohol base?? Here are a couple of samples.
The last one Grace made for Baby Logan.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope your weekend was super!

Baby Blessings

Hello Everyone, I hope you all had a great Fourth of July. I had a lots of fun with my family and friends. It was the first 4th that I did not have to work in a long time so it was extra nice for me.
I have a grand baby coming soon so I have been crafting away. Therefore I have several projects to show you. This one, I took Nichole Heady's que and made a lullaby CD and case. You can see her project here I made mine a little different since I already had a CD case. I just covered mine with Bitty Baby Blessings patterned paper. I am still in the process of downloading lullabies. This case will fit 2 CD's so I plan to have one CD of instrumental and one with singing. This was such a fun project. I think I want to make one similar for my 9 year old however, it would be pimped out like a ROCK STAR! I can so see it now with the DCWV Rock Star collection paper! Some of her favorite songs!!! She will LOVE IT!! Nichole inspires me all the time so check out her blog and I bet you will be inspired too. Have a great weekend!!

OCCC BasicGrey and PaperTrey!!

Well, I am taking on a fun challenge, find it here from Our Creative Corner. There are some
very talented designers on that blog I tell ya. This weeks challenge was to use BasicGrey paper new or old it doesn't matter. I happen to have lots of BG paper as I love it so much. This paper pack is BLUSH. I used SCS sketch SC157 for my layout. I used a fun new set from PTI called Boards and Beams. I used the city house from that set. I colored it to co-ordinate with the colors
in the BG paper. I used colored pencils and gamsol. I used some edge anchors from CTMH to
give it a little more punch. DH thinks it is too busy but I love it, so there!! I hope you like it. If you have some BG paper you should try it too.
Stamp On!
