Big D

Hiya Folks!!!!
Its almost New Years!! Good Times! Anyone have big plans? I believe we are just gonna chill out at the house. We were invited to what I think will be a really kewl casino style black tie party but hubs just dosnt want to rent a tux, party pooper!. Its okay really, I will have to work all day anyway. Well go to it next year. Since we have been so busy with house stuff it will be nice to just chill, I may just get a little crazy and break out some craftyness!!! OOOO that really sounds like a great new year to me! Here is another layout I did at my scrap weekend back in November. This is my handsome hubs with our grandbaby Logan. Jim is called Big D. His father is Big Daddy so he could not have that, he wanted it but I would not let him. So he is stuck with just Big D. HA! I know the paisley paper and the polka dot paper is SEI i got at Hobby Lobby a couple of years ago for like .10 cents each! The background paper is Hambly. The "the sweetest thing" is a SU rub on and I cut out the frame with my just to awesome for words Cricut! Well, that is it for now. Thanks so much for your visit and HAVE A HAPPY AND SAFE NEW YEAR!
Cheers!

Wow! so Christmas came and went! Whew is anyone else worn out? Fun stuff though. Here is one of the necklace and earring sets I made for a gift. I love chunky jewelry. I believe the person I gave this to does also! Hope you had a very merry Christmas. Thanks for running over here to visit me today. Have a great night.

Oh! on the home front. Our offer WAS accepted on our 2nd choice house. We are THRILLED!
We really got a GREAT deal/steal on a wonderful house in a fantastic neighborhood and still in Mount Juliet and same school system my daughter is in now. There is a lot of work that needs to be done on it, that is one reason we got such a great deal but we are fired up and ready!
So life and God are definitely good!
One thing that makes it even sweeter is that our first choice house, we just found out, is not accepting any offers under X dollar amount so there is no way we would have been able to get this house. It also needs renovation and we just cannot justify spending X amount plus all of the extra for renovations. We are looking at the end of January before we close on our house now and the one we are buying. But we will be really busy in that time with appraisals, last minute fixes on the house we are selling and all of that jazz. I hope to have a minute or two of crafty time. Thanks for listening!
Cheers!

Mommy's Babies

Good Sunday afternoon people!
Hope your day is going great so far. Mine is pretty terrific. The Titans are winning so this always makes for a good Sunday in our house. My Christmas gifts are ALMOST complete. I am ready!
We *should* find out about one of the houses we are looking at. So yes, life is good.
I have a friend at work that asked me at the last minute to make a scrapbook page for his girlfriend that he can give to her on Christmas. It needs to include something about mommy and babies and pink. This page will be about her two beloved puppies. I think it turned out pretty well. I used a layout as a guide from Scrapbook Trends Magazine which made the page come together "fairly" quickly. He will probably get a scrapbook frame to put this in then give it to her. AAWWWWW what a sweet boyfriend huh?!
This paper kit uses CTMH Amore. The bracket page is Jenni Bowlin that I used as the brown frame then traced and cut out the patterned paper from the CTMH kit. It was soooo much fun to get a little scrappy this weekend even though I dont get to keep the resulting product. I can always reproduce for myself right! The flourishes were created from the Cricut Carts Home Decor and Home Accents LOVE those two carts! Oh, and the letters were cut using Hannah Montana cart. Alright, back to some jewelry making. Thanks so much for visiting me today. I hope you have a wonderful night!
Cheers!

Christmas Card

Hidy Ho! Its Thursday people!! That means the weekend is so close we can smell it! I am so ready! I HOPE to have a minute to make a card or two. All is not lost though I have made quite a bit of necklaces and bracelets for gifts. So I have been crafty but I am ready to get inky!!!
Anyway I have this card and one more to share of the Graphic 45 cards that I made. I lined the image with stickles. That stuff looks so great with vintage prints. Okay, off and running, Thank you so much for coming by. Hope you have an awesome night!

Christmas Past

Hello and happy Tuesday! Hope all is well. I have a super simple card for you tonight. Still having fun with the Graphic 45 die cut sheet. Went to a used music store and bought a book of sheet music..yea!!!! The glitter paper is some I picked up at Hobby Lobby and the satin ribbon is PTI Ripe Avocado. Punched out 3 little snowflakes with the Martha Stewart snowflake punch. Added that onto the card then raised the image on pop dots. Left it at that. Thanks for your visit. Hope you have a great night and wonderful tomorrow!
Cheers!

Scarlett Merry Christmas

Good Sunday morning everyone!!!
I hope your day is starting out great. I actually had a little bit of time to craft yesterday but, I totally needed to rest. I have not slowed down in...well, I don't know how long. So I did some housework and then sat my big hiney down and relaxed. It was nice.
I made this card weeks ago and just realized I have not shared it yet. I made the stripes with tiny slivers of cardstock. I love the look it gave. The little paper edge on the end was not supposed to be there but I kept messing with the ribbon and got it all out of wack so I had to cover it up. My stash had just the ticket for that. That fun pattern was stamped from two images from Vintage Labels. Add some ribbon and a button and viola! Its a card!
We are still house hunting, it is exhausting and time consuming. Thank you so much for the visit. Hope you have a great day!
Cheers!

Santa

ARRRGGGG!
so, good thing, we have accepted an offer on our house that did not get listed yet! Bad news the offer we put on a house did not get accepted! Where are we going to go? HA! obviously we may have to rent for a minute or two. We are very specific in what we are looking for and very constricted to an area because of the school system we want to stay in. The very first house we put on offer on is not out of the picture yet, just taking a looooong time because it is in a short sale. So still hoping for that option. We just did not expect our house to sell so quickly.

Anyway....here is a happy Christmas card. I used some more of that fun Vintage Christmas Past from Graphic 45 again! Been having so much fun with that. The sentiment is PTI Silent Night and the patterned paper is ....well, i don't know. I won some pieces in a blog candy! Outlined the die cut with Stickles. The cardstock is PTI Scarlet Jewel and Rustic Vintage Cream.

Okay kids, I am off to google some more houses for sale. Thanks for coming by!

Cheers!

Compliments of the Season

Hello!!!!!
Goodness, it has been a minute since I posted last. I hope you are well on this frosty Sunday Morning! Things are good in the Smith household. We are still waiting to hear about the short sale house but we found another house that we really liked. It too, needs some renovations but because of that it is a good deal. We are in the processes of going back and forth with negotiations. And I guess some good news with that is, our house is not even officially on the market and it may already be sold!! How crazy is that? I know its good to have a buyer but we really are not in a hurry! We are blessed, I know that much.
Anyway.....I got together with my girlfriends Friday night for our "Girls Christmas" and got to actually make some cards! First time in 3 weeks plus that I had made a card. It was soooo nice.
The deets are below. I hope you enjoy your Sunday! Go Titans!!! Thanks for the visit.
Cheers!

St Patricks Day

Yes, I am doing it. I am showing my never get out any more side. I got to go out for St Patricks Day this year. It was on a week night, took the train into town and had a ride home so I let my hair down and got a little silly and IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! So here is a lay out of the crazy evening with some friends. I will probably have a few more scrap pages to share but I WILL have some cards to share before too long. Me and my 5 high school friends are having our girls Christmas this Friday night and we will eat, drink, play Christmas music, exchange gifts and make our Christmas cards. I have already started to pack a few things as I have some ideas in my head. I need to write those down! otherwise these wonderful ideas will be gone! crazy how I can barely remember things anymore. I did not get ANY crafting time in these 4 days off! We had 3 Thanksgiving dinners to attend and we babysat the grandbaby Friday and Saturday. Which was great I haven't seen him in about 2 months!
I don't remember who made the paper. I got it on clearance at my LSS. The letters were cut out using one of the fonts on the Hannah Montana Cricut cart. Okay gonna run, I am going to attempt to make a couple of necklaces or bracelets for gifts for some co-workers. Thanks for stopping by my little piece of the blog world. Have a great night.
Cheers!

Play

HI!!!!
Happy Black Friday to some of you CRAZY shoppers! Not me boy. Online shopping all the way!
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and or friends. Ours was just perfect and we have two more to go! Today at my in-laws and Sunday at my daddy's. Goodness gracious you will have to roll me through the door to work on Monday! LOL
Anyway quick post as I need to go get ready. This is another page I made on my scrappy weekend. This is my Step-son Steven and his little boy Logan, my favorite grandbaby!!!
I used the Cricut Home Accents for the swirly image on the side. The paper is from a Fiskars package I won a while back. It is more wintery themed but obviously dosnt have to be winter.
I stamped with Damask Designs from PTI (swooon!!) The cardstock is old stuff I have had in my stash probably since the begining of this fabulous hobby of mine. The play stamp I borrowed from my great friend Tina so I do not remember the maker. The little fleur-de-lis is chipboard by American Crafts. I decided to leave it plain white. The great big fat ribbon is Offray. I hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by and letting me know what you think. Have a great weekend!
Cheers!

Tiny Dancer

Hidy HO!!!!
Hows your day going? I worked 11 hours today trying to make up for some time that I will be off for Thanksgiving. I was planning on working over tomorrow too but...we have 3 houses to check out. We still have not heard about our short sale offer yet. It has been 3 weeks now so maybe within another month. But just in case we are not chosen then we are going to keep looking.
SOOOOOOO, here is one of the pages I did while on my super fun scrappy weekend getaway.
I need another get away to have some time to make cards. I MISS playing in my craft room. Everything is still there, not packed away, I just haven't had time.
I love watching Grace dance. I love it because she loves it, it makes her so happy you can just see it on her face. I am not really big on the Lyrical dances but she (and the other girls) was so graceful and beautiful during this dance this past competition season! I call this her leap but she says it is something else. I hope you like. Thanks for your visit! Come again soon. I hope to have something new posted. Have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!
Cheers!

Vintage Happy Christmas

Well, Hello! How are you? My, my the time sure has flown by lately. We have been extremely busy getting our house ready to put on the market. AND I am getting ready to go on a scrapbooking retreat to Center Hill Lake bright and early Friday morning!! YEA ME!

Here is the other vintage Christmas card I made last week. Used some more of the super fantastic Graphic 45 punch outs. I decided to go for glitter again. This time I ran the two way
glue pen around the edge of the tag and dipped it into some CTMH red glitter. OH it is so pretty.
and broke out some more of the vintage sheet music!! The patterned paper is Basic Grey. The ribbon and button is PTI. I ran a simple stitch with the sewing machine around the edge. The "snowflake" is a flower image from the Cricut Home Decor cartridge. Then I glued that whole die and covered it in Dazzling Diamond glitter from Stampin' UP! I got the basic layout idea from a card by Melissa Phillips in the Cards Magazine.

Okie Dokie kids. Gotta start packing for my scrappy weekend. Have a great night!! Thanks for taking the time to visit me today!

Cheers!

December 25th

Happy Sunday Night!
Hope all is well, it has been a busy, busy weekend. NO crafty time except just a wee bit at Gina's crafty night at church. THANKS GINA! So here is one of the Vintage Christmas cards I worked on last week. I love how it turned out. If I may say so. I am in love with vintage sheet music at the moment. I ordered some from Amazon.com and need more already. The lace just happend to be in my sewing box! (yea!). The die cut paper edge is from Little Yellow Bicycle. The little Dec 25 punch out is Graphic 45. Then i stickled the edge of it for some fun glittery effect. Cardstock and ribbon is my favorite PTI. So that is it for now. Thanks so much for coming over to take a look at my card. Have a GREAT night!!
Cheers!

super quick

OMG it has been a minute since i have posted! Sorry about that... We expectantly discovered a house that we want. We have been not really looking but have a realtor send us pics and info on houses that he knows we want "one day" AND at the right price! He has been doing this now for about 4 years!!! yes years! Our dream house just showed up in our email on monday and we were like "this is it"!!!
we are so not ready and were not expecting this. so we ran out on tuesday to look at it and put an offer on it wed then thursday realtor tell us he is coming to apraise our house on saturday. well i have things to do on friday and saturday so last night i RAN home and cleaned like a mad woman outside and inside, after working all day i may add...cleaned from 4:00-8:30. and was EXHAUSTED! Well, wish us luck because there are 2 other offers on the house. I dont know when we will find out whos offer was accepted. It needs LOTS of TLC but we are up to the challenge. it has everything we want plus.
so these little lollipop flowers are a Designing D.I.V.A.S. secret sister challenge. the first one I used CTMH paper pack and the second one is felt and fabric! Gotta go get ready to have craft night with my crafty friends. Gina, Angela and Tina!!!

Holiday Greetings

Happy Halloween!!! What is more appropriate for a Halloween post than a Christmas card? I have been practicing my Copic coloring. This image is a free digital download from My Favorite Things. And that beautiful paper is Kaiser Craft. I also finally got around to scrapbooking last years Christmas pictures with this paper. I used Spellbinder Nestis for the scalloped frame. The
cardstock is PTI Scarlett Jewel that just happend to match perfectly. Along with some PTI Scarlett Jewel ribbon and the sentiment is also PTI Merry & Bright. Then finished the card off with three little snowflake punches from Martha Stewart snowflake punch.

Alrighty then, I am making french toast for breakfast and my daughter is driving me nuts to get started so I must run. Thanks so much for your visit!!! Have a great Halloween!

Spooky Treats

Hello and Happy Humpday!!!! Hope yours is going well. Charlie Brown Halloween special comes on in 30 mins! Yea! I still LOVE to watch all the Charlie Brown specials. It reminds me so much of my childhood. Anywho, these are a little project I made for a few special people at work. Then everyone else wonders where in the world there's is! HA. I work in a building with 300+ people.
I got this fabulous idea from Melissa Phillips in the Oct issue of Paper Crafts Magazine. The little bowl "Cauldron" is an Easy Mac bowl. One quick little coat of acrylic paint and it became a spooky treat. I dressed it up with some PTI Spooky Sweet Treats II. Made the frame from my ever loving Cricut and the Home Decor Cart. Some PTI ribbon, some random brand ribbon, some twine, CTMH Enchanted Paper and My Minds Eye paper. PTI buttons and Favorite Findings Ribbon, some old Halloween paper clips leftover from last year. Hope you like it. Thank you so much for your visit. Hope you have an awesome night!
Cheers!

HI there!! Happy Sunday afternoon. Whew this day has gone by so fast! But not all is lost. I managed to get quite a bit accomplished. First off is Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge. I had a REALLY hard time making these colors work. So I ended up with super simple one layer although I had tons of ideas in my head, I just could not get it to work out. Glad you had a chance to stop by. Please say hello if you have a second!

Blue Rose

Happy Happy Thursday!!! Goodness this week has flown by! LOVE IT. I just bought my New Moon tickets!! My sister and I are taking our girls Friday night 11-20-09. OOOOOO I am sooo excited! EEEEKKKKK.

On to the card. I got a little crazy with the photography huh? I think I like it just off a little. Just a little wonky. HA I love that word wonky! Anywho.... I got the Allegro Cuttlebug punch and had to test it out. I smeared CTMH white ink over the raised embossed part. Kinda like it! I messed the leaves up. Instead of just cutting out the rose again on the cricut (i did use green to cut out the overlay) for the bottom part of the leaf I just colored it green with my Copic marker, dont really care for the way it came out but I had already spent too much time on the thing so I was makin' it work!
I used the awesome Basic Background Text for the words on the label one die and stamped the border on that with PTI Vintage Labels. The base of the rose is a blue piece of Creative Memories decorative paper, it is all I had that matched the PTI Enchanted Evening cardstock.
I cut out the rose with Hannah Montana Cricut Cart. The Happy Birthday sentiment is PTI Damask Designs. So that is it kids! Hope you like. Have a great night!!!
Cheers!

It is like a little piece of heaven. Dont worry I am still practicing! Thanks for the visit and hope you have a great night. I wont be here tomorrow as I will be out with 5 of my bestest girlfriends celebrating Lori's bday!

Winter Wishes

Good Sunday Afternoon!! It is so pretty and so much warmer than yesterday. I need to update about the Bonfire/Hayride last night it wasn't 30 it was actually more like 40. so NOT quite as bad but still dang chilly. I was sitting around the fire with me feet propped up and the bottom of one of my sneakers started smoking!!! HA!!! guess I was too close to that warm fire.

Anyway, Today's card is a sweet little image that my friend Tina let me stamp with. I think it is the Greeting Farm. There are three in the set Rain, Winter and Summer i believe. This on is winter. She is soooo cute. I am still trying to learn to color with Copic so bare with me.

I have no idea who the paper is. A friend gave it to me and there was no identification on the back at all. But I love the colors and argyle pattern. I wish I had more Copics so i could have matched the paper better. SOME DAY! I will be getting more. Right now I have to think about Christmas gifts before I can buy myself any non essentials. The pink paper is CTMH Hollyhock and ribbon is PTI Berry Sorbet. The buttons are from My Minds Eye. The sentiment is PTI Snow Fall set and the Snowflake is PTI 2008 Holiday Tag Collection. and the die cut is Spellbinders Label 4.

THANK YOU for visiting. Hope you have a great Sunday GO TITANS!! (poor babies are so bad this year!)

Cheers!

Bookmark Card

How is your Saturday? I have to say mine has been nice except for having to go to the grocery store and not crafting YET. I got to sleep late (8:00am) is that late? Is for me. I have been able to chill out for the most part. Just doing a little bit around the house at my leisure. Trying to stay warm. But that wont last long as I have to take Grace to her dance team Halloween Party at Pumpkin Hill which will en tale a hayride and bonfire. Sounds fun right?!?! Well, It is going to be 30 degrees tonight! YIKES. I dont like the cold very much. Hopefully I will be able to spend most of my time warming my bum by the fire!
So anywho, my blogging group, Designing D.I.V.A.S is in the mist of Secret Sister. Our first challenge is to make an un traditional card. I went with the bookmark card. I found the measurements on Splitcoast Stampers. I have not broken out the Lovely as a Tree stamp set in a while so I grabbed that and another oldie the Linen Background. The tree on the actual bookmark part is covered with the Sukura glitter gel pen. I LOVE that thing. I hope you can get an idea if its shimmer from the close up. Looks so good IRL. Okay, time to start getting ready, sure hope I get a chance to craft tomorrow since I didnt today! Thanks for your visit!

Love You Hearts

Good Eeevvening!
Did that sound like Dracula? No? It was supposed to! I have always had an infatuation with vampires. I got to thinking the other day. This has really gone on a long time. I remember that The Count from Sesame Street was my favorite!! LOVED IT when he was on. LOL
So here is my card for tonight. See any resemblance to this card? I made them at the same time.
Decided to go for a Valentine theme. Have I told you before that I love Papertrey Ink? They are having a release party tonight You should check it out!
Hope you enjoy the rest of your Wednesday. Thank you for visiting!!!
Cheers!

Happy Holidays

HI!!! Happy Tuesday. Hope things are well on your side of the fence. I have two cards same design just in different colors. The one on the bottom was for an embellishment challenge. This time i remembered the twine. ( a few posts down I did the same challenge but forgot the twine).
The first card was my original and found the inspiration for it from a Home Decor magazine. Cant remember the name of it. It was a mag at work, I instantly thought of this layout and jotted it down so I would remember when I got home. Okie dokie, I am off to have some family time. Enjoy your night and thanks so much for coming to see me!
Cheers!

Embellish Color Challenge - Circle card

Happy Beautiful Sunday!!! At least it is here where I am. Perfect temperatures and the sunshine is gorgeous! Anywho.... I got a chance to play in another Embellish Magazine Color Challenge. This time we had to make a circle card. I have NEVER made a circle card before! Wow, am I behind the times or what? I started out cutting the scallop base with the Cricut Mini Monogram Cartridge. Then I used Creative Memories Circle Cutter to cut out the actual card that flips open. I used this method because I could stop at the top giving enough room to score it so it will flip open. Then went back to the Cricut and cut the polka do circle out with the solid circle option.
The cup and saucer was stamped and cut out then raised on pop dots. Before that though I added some "foam" with Liquid Applique. I decided to add a little more brown so used some tiny buttons however....I did not place them exactly like I would have wanted to so I tried to pick them up and replace them and tore the paper a little. Have you ever used glue dots and tried to reposition? Yea...doesn't work so much. Whats done is done so I did not have a choice but to leave it. Well, I could have started all over but I have more things to do today. Thanks so much for looking. Hope you get a chance to play in the challenge also!
Cheers!

Wish Big

WoooHooooo!!! It's Saturday. My favorite day of the week. It is nice and cool outside and I have some Broccoli Cheese soup to make for dinner. All is right with the world I tell ya! Most of all I have crafty time today! Hot digity!

I made this card for a color challenge for Embellish Magazine. I totally left out the twine so I could not turn this one in. It looks too much like the 4th of July to really be a birthday card huh? Well, its probably going to be a birthday card anyway!

Okay need to run, have things to do before we pick up Grace's sweet little friend Ali to spend the night with us. Ali moved away 2 years ago but these girls still keep in touch. Which is really remarkable to me since they were 8 years old when she moved.

Card Deets: All PTI baby! Cardstock: Pure Poppy, Kraft, Dark Chocolate. Ink: Enchanted Evening, Pure Poppy. Stamps: Fancy Flourishes, Background Basics Stars, Damask Designs, Polka Dot Basics II. Oh, the star punch is Stampin' UP!

Vintage Snowman?

HI There! How is your Wednesday? My work day ended a little early due do a sick little girl at home (her dad took care of her this morning). She started feeling bad and running a fever yesterday however this afternoon she is feeling much better so I am pretty positive it is not the flu. Thank goodness.
So I LOVE vintage but... I am not so good at it but thought I would give it a whirl. The blue floral paper is BasicGrey Oh Boy the pink is My Minds Eye (i think) it was a piece left over from years ago from a Jenni Bowlin class I took (LOVE HER btw). I also printed some free vintage sheet music from the Internet. I used Spellbinder Label One die cut in two sizes and stamped one of them with a polka dot border from PTI Vintage Label set. The cute little snowman is also PTI called Made of Snow. I colored him with Koh-I-Nor colored pencils and OMS. Inked a little around the edges of everything and ran a straight stitch around the card with the Janomi Mini.
then added a little bow of PTI Spring Rain ribbon and called it a card!
okay, since grace is feeling much better I am going to take advantage of being home early and go work out. Thank you for stopping by today! Have a great night!
Cheers!
