Birthday Wishes

HI!!!! Woke up to a STORMY Saturday morning. Then...the sun came out! OMG it is a beautiful sight in a land where it has rained for two weeks. We have had 9 inches of rain for September. Craziness I tell ya. Last night Grace had a friend spend the night. The girls were so good, brushed their teeth when I told them to, put on their jammies and settled down when asked. They slept late this morning AND there were good til it was time to get ready to meet the dance team for lunch at Steak-N-Shake (YUM) and all the way through the movie FAME. I think the girls were a little disappointed in the movie. It was not like the T.V. series back in the day. and it did not have as much dancing as they had hoped. Still they had fun being together doing anything besides practice.
Anywho on to the card. Dont know how I feel about this one. definitely not one of my favs.
I used PTI Spring Rain, New Leaf, Raspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise and Stampers Select White.
I used the scorebug for the background. And the stamp set I used was Flower Garden (I think...too lazy to get up and look right now). the ribbon is bitty dots New Leaf. That is all for now girls. Thanks for stopping by. I get to have some time to play so gotta go while I can!!
Cheers!

U ROCK!

Hello All!!!
How is your Tuesday going? I had a few bumps this morning but it was a good day. Although my hair cannot take much more rain. It has rained 5-6 days in a row now, I have lost count! LOL. So here is a birthday card for one of my daughters friends. Pretty simple. I haven't used this paper pack in a while so wanted to get it out and play. It is The Angel Company, Uptown Girl. Alrighty folks another busy night, I am hoping to finish this necklace I have been working on, I thought I finished last night, but after I put it on, decided I did not like it. It has a disc on either side and just happens to sit at the sides of my neck so it reminds me of the little knobs on Frankenstein's neck! LOL I like the little discs so i plan to move them down a little farther. We shall see how it goes. Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT night!!!
Cheers!

Embellish Color Challenge - Polka Dot Paradise

Hello! Hope your Sunday is well and you are getting geared up for another work week! Did you know that Ashley Newell is about to embark on a new online magazine called Embellish? I am really excited to see what all is offered for a mere $3.00 a month! The first color challenge is Polka Dot Paradise Color Challenge. We are to use of course, polka dots and light orange, orange, cream and burgundy. This card immediately popped into my head. I love these little birds from CTMH. I just used it on a card in the post below. This time instead of stamping them I traced them out on felt. I have not recieved my package yet from PTI that was just released on the 15th that included the new orange. I did have Pumpkin Pie cardstock and ink from Stampin Up. The light orange is PTI Summer Sunrise. The Love you Forever is from PTI Heart Prints. The polka dot is PTI Polka Dot basics II. The swirl is embossed from Cuttlebug folder Devine Swirl and the tad bit of burgundy is PTI Scarlet Jewel. OH! the frame is cut from the Cricut Home Accents Cartridge. Everything is mounted onto PTI Rustic Cream Cartstock. I hope you enjoyed looking. Thanks for coming by! Have a great night!
Cheers!

Blue Bird

Good Saturday Morning to you!! Gosh, I did not realize it has been since Wednesday since I posted. Man, this working Mon-Fri is taking up a lot of my time. I have worked 3 12hour shifts and 4 -10 hours for 7 years. I am having some adjustment issues. However, so far I am enjoying my new job. I just have to learn a new routine to get in more crafty time. That being said I did have some time last week to make this sweet blue bird card!!! I finally got the Enchanted Evening from PTI OH MAN! this color is beautiful! I hope you like it too.
Gonna Run for now, I have to get ready to take Grace for an eye exam, possibly pick out some glasses, shop for yet ANOTHER birthday party for her to go to, a little shopping for me, including a trip to JoAnn (haven't been there in forever) And of course we cannot go shopping without doing lunch at her favorite pizza place NYPD Pizza. I love that she is a girly girl!!
Thanks so much for your visit today!!!
Cheers!

Purple Butterfly

HAPPY MONDAY!!! wooohooo....we made it. Made it through Monday! Hope all is well with you.
I was totally inspired to copy one of Dawn McVeys cards. I loved the big butterfly. I decided to change the color to purple. The butterfly I used was cut using the Hannah Montana Cartridge (have i said i love that cart before LOL) The small butterfly is the Martha Stewart punch. Good Luck sentiment is from PTI Mega Mixed Messages. The embossing down at the bottom was used with the American Crafts Purple Metallic Embossing Powder and PTI Damask Designs. I threw on some pearls from The Paper Studio and some Plum Pudding ribbon from PTI. OH the polka dot paper is PTI Bitty Dots in Lavender Moon. Hope you enjoyed. Have a great night!!

Shrimp & Grits And a Card

Sorry for the lack of posts this weekend. We babysat Grandbaby Logan so I was pretty tied up..I enjoyed every minute of it though!!! He is 13 months old and walking everywhere and he tries to talk A-LOT. I love it.
Okay so, I dont know of shrimp and grits is just a southern thing or not but if you have never tried them OH MY you really should. I have always had them at a party or restaurant and have not ever tried to make them. Well, I did for dinner tonight. Holy schmoly soooo yummy. I found a recipe from Bobby Flay (Food Network). Just a mixure of cheese, grits, bacon, green onion, garlic, lemon juice and shrimp.....YUMMMMMM.
I will definitely make this again. GREAT winter comfort food.
This little card was put together using several makers. The cardstock is PTI Melon Berry, Vintage Cream and Dark Chocolate. The owl is also PTI Wise Owl set and so is the leaves and flowers. The dots on the Melon Berry is Close to my Heart Spot on Background. The branch is from PTI Out on a Limb Revisited. I stamped it then stamped another and cut it out for a
somewhat 3-D look even though I did not use foam dots because the limbs where too skinny.
The ink is CTMH Sorbet and Garden Green. The owl is colored with Copic Markers ( I really need to practice with those). For the sentiment I used SU Window Word punch.
Have a great night. Let me know if you have a great recipe for Shrimp and Grits!!!!
Cheers!!!!!

Designing D.I.V.A.S. Challenge

Happy Titans Football Thursday!! Game is on so this is quick. The blog group I am in called Designing Divas has a challenge once a month. This months challenge is to make a card with the sentiment as the main focal point. I just bought these cute sentiment stamps from Creative Clear Stamps. Since these stamps are clear i was able to cut the stamp and position it the way I want.
The sentiment wasn't fitting in my frame so I decided to cut it up to make it fit. Just one more reason to love clear stamps!! I used PTI Raspberry Fizz Mix patterned paper and Black and White Basics. The cardstock is also PTI Raspberry Fizz and True Black. I cut the frame out with CTMH Black because it is thinner than the PTI cardstock thus making a much cleaner cut with the Cricut. I used the Hannah Montana Cartridge for the frame. Thanks for looking!!!!
Cheers!

I borrowed this stamp for my friend Gina or Angela..isnt that pittiful, I dont know which one. It was a long time ago that I stamped her but non the less I still have her and finally using her. I colored her this Copic and Prisma Markers. The patterend paper is from CTMH called Good Times. The sentiment is PTI Celebrations and Simple Alphabet. I cut out the swirl with the Cricut Cart Home Decor. Gotta run to get ready for work hope you all enjoy your Thursday....weekend here we come!!! THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT!!!

Adore and some tidbits

HI!!!! Well, i am still alive after the 10K run!!! OMG it totally wore me out though. My daughter took some before and after pics and I was too ashamed to show the after pic (after got home and showered) I looked like I had been beat half to death! LOL I ran 6 miles in just under 1 hour and 20 mins. That to me is a little slow because my husband is a marathon runner but hey... I had never ran more than 3 miles so it was an accomplishment. My daughter took the pic above of me running past the finish line. I was wonderful and can hardly wait to do it again.
Then WICKED was absolutely AMAZING! The props and acting, everything was superb!
I did hear two ladies behind me saying that they saw Wicked in St Louis and it just did not compare to Nashville, they said Nashville was tons better.
Now...on to my page. This is of course Grace while we where in Florida. I had actually scrapped this pic in one of Dawn McVey's color challenges but HATED the layout. So I re did it and LOVE this one. The base page is The Angel Co, polka dot paper is Jennie Bowlin (LOVE her stuff). The striped paper is DCWV. The flowers and lace is The Paper Studio as well as the flat pearls and brads. I swiped White Pigment Ink across the pink paper and also the Clear Cardstock from PTI that I placed over the photo to make a border around the pic. The little butterflies were punched with Martha Stewart punch. And the Adore was cut using my beloved Cricut and the Home Accents Cartridge. Well thanks so much for your visit today. I hope you come back!!!
Cheers!

August Publish

HI!!! Hope you have enjoyed your weekend so far! So far so good for me, last night was girls night at my cousins house. We sang along with the play station. I dont know the name of the game but two people sing karaoke style and the play station judges you how how well you know the words and carried a tune, needless to say, I did not win ONE round! LOL. We had a great time though. Today hubs, daughter and I did a little bit of shopping, had a nice lunch. I got to play in the scraproom for a bit, hubs went to the Vanderbilt football game and Grace and I watched Confessions of a Shop-a-holic, sooo cute. Tomorrow hottie hubs and I go see Wicked at TPAC! OH, i am soooooo excited. Then on Sunday he and I are running together in the Franklin Labor Day race. I am sooooo scared! This is my first official race EVER! Hubs is running in the 5K and the 10K, I am only doing the 10K. My super fun friend Robin is running the 10K also. Well actually let me clarify a little...I will run/walk a 10K. I cannot run 6 miles straight. Also, in
Tennessee there is not flat land ANYWHERE. It is very hilly everywhere so I know fo-sho that I cannot run up and down hills for 6 miles! Anyway, have i jabbered on long enough? Thanks for staying with me so far. I wanted to share this card I made for Cards Magazine that was published in the August issue. YEA!! All supplies used is Papertrey except for the line ruled paper which was Creative Memories. this completes all of the whole 2 cards I have had published. It was fun, a-lot of work, but fun. I hope you like it THANKS SO MUCH for coming to see me!
Cheers!

Also used the Recipe Box Label and First Fruits from PTI as well. The friendship is CTMH.
I used the rock n roll technique for the leaves. The ribbon is PTI too. I got this basic idea from a card I saw in Oct issue of Paper Crafts Magazine but changed it up a little bit. I am off to check the rest of the entries. Have a great night!!!

Which Witch?

Evening to you all!!!! I have a quick post before I tear into my just arrived package from PTI.
Wooohoooo. I will be getting my craft on for sure! So this past weekend I was feeling a little fallish so I made some scccaaarrryyyy Halloween cards. LOL I LOVE this witch from PTI Spooky Sweets II. and i think a sweet little witch like this needs to be pair with some polka dots.
I broke out the PTI Polka Dot Basics and Kraft cardstock along with True Black. The orange is CTMH Orange (plain and simple enough name for this color, just orange..no bright orange, tangelo orange..nope..just orange LOL) While I had the orange thread in the sewing machine from making the burpie cloths. I decided to throw in some stitching as well. Hope you like. Enjoy your Wednesday Night, I have a package to tear into!
Cheers!
