Bold Stripes

Hello! Happy Saturday boys and girls. Hope your day is well, Saturday is my favorite day of the week! Okay so I decided to give up sweets and sodas for Lent this year. I am into my fourth day now. OMG it is soooooooo hard. I ate sweets all the time. Rather it be made with real sugar or sugar substitute. I decided to give it all up. No more sugar in my coffee. That actually has been the easiest. I practiced drinking my coffee black for about 2 weeks before Lent. But my diet sodas............oh golly, do I ever miss those. I tried to reason before that if I ate sweets made from splenda I am doing good. Well, not really so I gave it all up for 40 days. Okay I have gone on long enough about that. I got it off my chest. I just think about sweets all the time! argh! So, this little card made with bold stripes.
I used PTI Plum Pudding, Raspberry Fizz and Aqua Mist. Just cut up some stripes and layered them onto white cardstock. The scallop squares are a die cut from cuttlebug. Hello friend is from PTI as is the little butterfly. Easy Peasy simple card. Hope you enjoyed looking at it. Have a fantastic rest of the weekend!
Cheers!

A Wise Owl Once Told Me

Hola Everyone! Hope your mid week is going well. This time I have a card to share made with my Wise Owl set from PTI I colored him with Copic Markers. The branch is from PTI Rustic Branches. The green cardstock is SU and I am sorry I just do not know what color that is. It is from a multi pack of earthy tones if that helps you any. Kraft cardstock is PTI. The photo turns and ric rac is CTMH. I love that ric rac. I actually did not plan on using either but card had looked so plain. I think they really did the trick to kick it up a notch. Hope you like it. Thanks for looking!
Cheers!

Rejected

Hi Gang! Happy Sunday! Oh, I had such a good time at the Fiskars Fun Day in Cave City Kentucky yesterday. I love those Fisk-a-teers. Did you know that Fiskars is getting ready to celebrate their 360 birthday! Holy Cow they have been making tools for over 3 centuries! We made some really cute projects and of course Fiskars had some give aways. After the classes were completed they gathered all of the product used, border punches, shape punches, paper trimmers, etc... and gave it all away!! I walked away with a border punch that I ALMOST purched but did not and good thing 'cause I got it FREE!!!! I love that word. Okay, on to the card. This one was rejected from a submission I sent to a mag. The call was for cards finished inside and out. They also asked for cards with bold stripes. So I put the two together and this is what I came up with. I really like it and had a blast making it so I guess I cant be totally bummed that it did not get picked. AND it uses my fav color of the moment Raspberry Fizz, you guys know how much I love it. It also used PTI True Black patterned paper, cardstock and Stampers Select White. I cut out a flower from the Raspberry Fizz Mix patterned paper and added it as an embellishment on the inside. The thank you so much sentiment is from PTI Around and About set. That's it, I must finish cleaning the house, I am almost done. Thanks so much for your visit. I hope you enjoyed the card!
Cheers!

Sympathy Card

Hello!! TGI to you! Today I worked on the mid month challenge for my Blogger Group 7. Karolyn chose to use a cinema challenge you can see it here. I chose Milk. I liked the soft colors in it and it imediately reminded me of With Sympathy set from PTI. I totally {heart} the floral flourish in that set. I added the little flowers in the set cut some of them out and attached with foam dimensional. For the flourish to show up better I first stamped in Grey Flannel by CTMH for a little shadow then moved it slightly to the right and heat embossed with CTMH White ep. I also heat embossed with White two little butterflies. Cut those out and attached with dimensional.
Then stamped the sentiment in Grey Wool so it would show up better as it is a darker than the Grey Flannel. To completed I layered the Indian Corn Blue piece onto Grey Flannel both CTMH and then onto PTI Stampers Select White. That's it for this card. It came together fairly quickly. I am out of town tomorrow so I will see you again on Sunday! Have a Super Duper weekend!
Cheers!

More Burpies!!!!

Hi Chickies! Hope your Wednesday is good so far. It was such a fun class in hip hop today. I think I'm starting to catch on. It is true that the older you get the slower you learn. Same with dance moves. My daughter still remembers all the moves from just the first and only class she took. I am still having just a few technical difficulties after 3 classes. LOL! It was a fun work out none the less. Annnnnywho you did not come here to listen about my dance moves huh?? I made some more burp cloths like the ones I posted here. These are so fun to make and so easy. I encourage you to look at the older post with the link for the directions if you are in need of a baby gift. Alright, I need to make a bracelet with the daughter so I will see you tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by let me know what you think of the burpies!
Cheers!

Pretty and Pink

Hola Everyone!!! WooooooHooooooo.. it's Friday!! Well, for me anyway. Sorry to rub it in. I really am excited though to have a 4 day weekend. And tomorrow is hip hop class.. yea! Anywho....this little gem of a card is up for your viewing pleasure today. Thank you for taking the time and interest to look! It is all PTI except for the button, twine and thread. You know how much I am lovin' that Raspberry Fizz. And look at that big fat bow! I usually am pretty skimpy on using my ribbon especially my prized PTI ribbon but hey, I can always buy more right?!?! I also finished the inside of the card, I don't do that often enough. I used my handy dandy Label One die cut from Spellbinder for the inside and out. Welp, that's all folks. Have an awesome night.
Cheers!

Some Jewelry

Hi Girlys! Thanks for working your way over here today! Hope you are well on the Tuesday evening. I wanted to share an ensemble I made for a Spaghetti Supper and Auction my daughters dance studio is having. The parents are asked to bring donated items to auction off. One of the things I am donating is this necklace, bracelet and earring set. I am fairly new to jewelry making so it is pretty basic. I also did not know how to present the pieces without just plopping them on the table. So after thinking about it for a little while I finally came up with this. I had an old frame I wasn't using and attached the pieces to Kraft cardstock then used foam dots for some space for the jewelry to fit through and still be able to close the back of the frame without squishing. I left the glass out so people can touch and feel. I personally need to touch and feel everything. My husband hates to shop with me cause I touch EVERYTHING! Please tell me someone else is out there like that! LOL. Well, even if this doesn't go in the auction I would still like to wear it myself. So it would not be a total loss of time or money. Well, thanks for looking!!!
Cheers!

Lucky

Hellllooooooo!! Happy Monday. So glad to be home, it was soooooo busy at work today. Job security however :-)
Today I chose to share another scrapbook page from my retreat last weekend. I used CTMH Vintage Travel paper pack
and those awesome huge Black Velvet Flowers are Heidi Swapp I got at Jenni Bowlin's consignment sale a few weeks
ago. Most of the layout I got from my favorite scrapbooking layout resource, Scrapbook Trends. I used all different products
though. This pic is of us Valentines day LAST year. Ya know it just dawned on me we did not take a pic together this year.
I guess we were just to interested in that sweet grandbaby to think about it. Have an awesome tomorrow! THANK YOU

Great Big Daddy

Happy Tuesday to you! Hope you are well. Today I wanted to share another scrapbook layout, again, I used the basic layout from Scrapbook trends mag. I love this little pic of baby Logan and his Great Big Daddy. He is my father-in-law and our kids call him Big Daddy. So now since he is a Great Grandfather he is lovingly donned Great Big Daddy. Cracks me up all the time 'cause my hubby is way bigger than big daddy. Anyway, I used some of that fine Jenni Bowlin label shaped cardstock. Layerd it on CTMH Outdoor Denim. The red polka dot paper is also Jenni Bowlin. The bar code is CTMH "Code it" and the bird is CTMH Bird Basic. The letters are CTMH Hodge Podge Alphabet. I punched out some stars with SU large and small star punch. Oh, and the ribbon is CTMH. Well, toot-a-loo for now. Big homework night tonight for Gracie. Thanks for coming to see me. I hope you are inspired to scrapbook a page!
Cheers!

I'm Back.....

from the scrapbook retreat. Ahhhhh, it was so much fun. I got 17 pages completed and 2 cards made. Not too bad but I was hoping to get more pages completed. Maybe next time. Point was to get away with 80 other girls that are crazy scrapaholics just like me. This is the first page I did. The letters are silver chipboard letters from Hiedi Swapp. The paper, ribbon, rubons and chipboard snowflakes is Hiedi Grace for Fiskars. The other snowflakes running down the side are by Embellish it. I have had those in my stash just waiting around for a snow fall to scrap about. We just dont get a good snow in Tennessee usually. So i made a page about Just Enough snow to make a kid happy and build a snowman with. I used the layout from one I saw in Scrapbook Trends magazine. I love that mag. Thats it for now. Thanks for looking. I hope to be back tomorrow.
Cheers!

Brown Bag It

Hello!! Happy Friday!!!!! Wooohooo. I am almost set to go for the scrapbooking retreat. Just a few more things to pack and I'll be done. I am so excited. I LOVE going on these. I love being around 80 women that are just as insane about this hobby as I am. It makes me feel "normal" LOL. Anyway I made a little project for the contest at Papertrey Ink. I missed yesterday's contest so I combined the two for my project today. Yesterday was an awesome give away and we were to make a bag of any kind. Today the awesome give away is a years worth of cardstock. If you have not ever used PTI cardstock you REALLY NEED to get some asap. It is wonderful colors and thickness and sturdy. I just love it. They come out with new colors every month. Anyway, again on to the project. We needed to use colors. Pure Poppy, Ocean Tides, Summer Sunrise (my favorite) and Ripe Avocado or similar colors if you don't have them specifically. I don't have Ripe Avocado (gasp!) so I substituted with SU Old Olive. So, I made a little snack bag for Grace's snacks at school. Wont she just be the envy at snack time! teehee. I used Fresh Alphabet, Simple Alphabet and Teacher's Apple stamps, all PTI. The patterned paper is Polka Dot Parade and the cardstock and ribbon is Pure Poppy. I used pinking shears to add a decorative touch. Well that is it. Thanks for looking. Keeping my fingers crossed I win the carstock. A crafter can NEVER have too much cardstock. Have a GREAT weekend. I will not see you again until Monday!
Cheers!

Sweet Heart

Okay, so I have ONE MORE Valentine's Day card to share. This one is also from the Cosmo Cricket kit Chemistry. I used the patterned paper and the punch out shapes that come with the kit to make this. I used a corner rounder for the scallop piece. The stitched ribbon is American Crafts and the cardstock is Tulip from CTMH. That little charm hanging that says sweet is from CTMH also. Viola that's it. Super quick and easy. I had my hip hop class today. It was so much fun. My dd was mortified that I would embarrass her as this class is given at HER dance school. It's fun when I dance crazy around the house with her but for goodness sakes don't do it in public. teeheee.
Well, she admits it wasn't so bad after all. There was enough room for our kids to join us if they wanted to so they did. It was a GREAT workout. We started off stretching and some exercise then, the last 30 mins we did a little routine. Anyway, now I am totally energized to clean my house. So, I am off. Have a great day!!
Cheers!

Cupcake Card

Hidy Ho! Woohooo. Its Wednesday! Thank goodness. Only two more days until I leave for craft-n-camp. My twice a year 3 day 2 night scrapbooking retreat. I am sooooo ready! This is a little card I whipped up for a friend of my daughters who turned 10. I still love pink and black together. The card base is PTI White and the pink is PTI Sweet Blush. The black is DCWV. Ink used is PTI Sweet Blush and Pallet Black Noir. That ca-ute cupcake is CTMH Cupcake Sprinkles. The HB sentiment is also CTMH Happy Birthday set. The stars were punched out with Stampin Up large and small star punches. I punched them out of CTMH adhesive sheets (retired). Then sprinkled pink and black glitter on them. I really liked the large grain of the glitter. I got it at Hobby Lobby in the Christmas Clearance stuff. The bottles were pretty big and only like .70 cents. Okay kids, gonna run...got MORE laundry to do!
Thank you for stopping by!!!!
Cheers!

Will You Be Mine?

Hi Guys!! Hope your Tuesday is great. We are getting closer to the weekend! I wanted to share another card I made from the Cosmo Cricket kit Chemistry. I used the sketch that comes with Cosmo Cricket kits. It gives several scrapbooking page sketches as well as couple of card sketches. Gotta love that. So this is what I came up with. Came together pretty quickly!! I sold a bunch of Valentine's Day cards at work today! woohoo gotta love that too! Now I have more money for STAMPS!!!!! Anyway, so today I got crazy and signed up for a Hip Hop class at my daughters Dance school. How insane is that!! I watched a few dance teams at her competitions doing Hip Hop and I LOVED watching it. So, her school has an adult hip hop class and I just did it! My first class is Thursday, I will be sure to let you know how it goes unless I am too sore to type afterwards! teehee. Thanks for coming to see me! Hope to see you again tomorrow! Have a warm evening. It is super chilly here tonight.
