Flower Garden Seed Packet Challenge

Hello All. I took on a fun challenge by Lisa Johnson who designed the Flower Garden set for Papertrey Ink. Click here to see Lisa's challenge and view other entries as well. I took the very traditional approach for the seed packet. I think this is a super cute way to give a gift card. A gift card fits perfectly in the seed packet. I used all PTI products. Except for the last one I colored in some of the flowers with CTMH markers that matched the closest to the PTI hybrid ink. On the second seed packet I used Flower garden with Honey Bees set as well for a well rounded mixture of a "Mixed Bouquet". One the first one I did include Polka Dot Basics as well. This was a fun project to make and I can totally see myself using this template again for gift cards. Like Christmas! Oh, I can just see the possibilities now. Thanks for looking. You can get the template on Lisa's blog.

Cheers! ~Julie~

Slow Down

Sometimes we have to be reminded to slow down so we can heal faster. Being moms we very rarely put ourselves first. I hope this card will help to remind her to just slow down! Anyway
I got the layout idea from SCS. I used ALL Papertrey Ink products. The stamps are Pond Life the patterned paper is Bitty Baby Blessings. Card stock is Summer Sunrise, Lemon Tart and Spring Moss. Ribbon is Summer Sunrise and Spring Moss (absolutely {heart} 5/8 grosgrain ribbon). The ink is Summer Sunrise hybrid. I cut the turtle out twice and placed dimensional
between the layers for that awesome 3-D effect that I love so much. Thanks for checking me
out today. I hope you enjoy your Saturday. I will be soothing sunburned skin -ouch-. Then hopefully feeling well enough to meet some friends at Gerst Haus for dinner (YUMMY).

Cheers,

June PTI Blog Hop

HI!!! Thanks for coming to see my PTI Blog Hop entry. I was so excited to give this challenge a try. We were to come up with a project using transparency. Well, that can just go in so many directions. The first card I did I took the thick transparency sheet that PTI stamps are stuck to when you first purchase them, before you transfer them to the CD cases. I thought that was a great thickness to make my very own ghost letters!!! I used the cuttlebug die alphabet set "your not the boss of me" and ran the letters b a b y through the cuttlebug. (This was so fun to do that I got side tracked and made more letters, those projects will come later) I highlighted the letters with the cats eye chalk ink pad so you could see them better on the project, let that dry and attached to the card using CTMH liquid glass. I absolutely ADORE the Bitty Baby Blessings stamp set and patterned paper that I used for that card also. The card stock used was Summer Sunrise and Spring Moss and Lemon Tart.
Well, I just wasnt finished playing with the transparency. I then decided to make another card. This time I used overhead projector transparency and swiped the Plum Pudding and Lavender Moon hybrid ink pad across the transparency then folded the paper to "smoosh" it. This is not a new technique but it was the first time I tried it with hybrid ink and I have to say I loved it because it dried so quickly compared to re-inkers. I then stamped with the Flower Garden and Honey Bee's stamp set and the sentiment from Flower Garden Sentiments with Staz-On Black ink directly onto the opposite side of the transparency. I added some fake dew drops (that is why I used so many ;-). Then layered Plum Pudding and Summer Sunrise cs onto that Bitty Baby Blessings patterned paper that I love so much. Oh, I also attached the transparency to white cs with liquid glass. Love that stuff since it dries clear! Again, thanks for visiting, I hope you like my projects. I am off to look at all the other girls projects too!!!

Back from Holiday World

We are back from Holiday World in Santa Claus Indiana. This is Grace's friend Ali and myself.
I don't know if you can see the apprehension in my face about going up on these swings, but it is there!! I am a total freak about heights. So a few Dramamine tablets (for motion sickness) later,
I decided to try a few rides. I did not get sick but man my stomach did turn a little. I got on a roller coaster. I know most of you think this is no big deal but let me tell you, it WAS a big deal for me. This was a wooden, crackly, shaky, old looking roller coaster that went very high and then STRAIGHT DOWN!!! WOW, I am a big brave girl! teehee. Anyway if you get the chance to go you should, they offer free drinks and free sunscreen. WOW! I did not realize how much sunscreen we use. Between the 4 of us I say we used more than a bottle. We were there for 9 hours and half that time we were at the water park section. So applying and re-applying is totally necessary. The lines were not long at all. And the weather was perfect. Not too hot and not too cold. Well enough of my little mini trip. Papertrey Ink's blog hop is tomorrow!!! Stay tuned!

Rabbit

More Papertrey Ink goodness! I had an extra piece of scored cs laying around and decided to
do SOMETHING with it. I pulled out my handy dandy PTI Bitty Baby Blessings and the rabbit fit perfectly :-) I used the Bitty Baby Blessings Patterned Paper to add color and interest. I was
just so excited how it fit so nicely on pre-scored card stock. I paper pieced the rabbit's ears with
another design of patterned paper to get just plain wild!! teehee. I stamped the rabbits in Lavender Moon and the sentiment in Summer Sunrise hybrid ink.
I have a really busy next 5 days so not sure when I will be back. Thanks for coming by and I hope you are inspired to stamp today!

Papertrey Ink Bliss

oooooo, I have been playing with my Papertrey Ink goodies. AND I have more that will be delivered tomorrow!!! This card is from Bitty Baby Blessings stamp set from PTI. I got the layout from over at SCS. I used PTI Spring Moss cs. and Bitty Baby Blessings designer paper.
I colored the duck with colored pencils and gamsol. The ribbon is ultra smooth twill from PTI.
I punched the tag from SU tage punch. The yellow buttons are from Wal-Mart. and I ran real
thin white paper strips for the thread. I lined faux stiches with a CM pen. This card is so
sweet and soft in real life. I hope you enjoy it. It just makes me smile and reminds me of the new baby smell. AAAWWW

Happy Father's Day

Greetings to you All!!

I hope your Father's Day is as BEAUTIFUL as it is here. I wanted to share the gift bag I made for my dad and a card I made for my step-son that will be a father in about 9 more weeks!!!
And of course I just had to share the picture I took of my daughter and her dad today. OMG it
is such a sweet picture. I really think she loves us just as much as we love her. Is that possible?
Anyway, Today is the June release for Papertrey ink so I was in a PTI creating frenzy. I will
have several projects to show you this week. The set I used for the gift bag and the card is the
great stamp set called Father Knows Best and the Father Knows Best designer paper pack from PTI. I used PTI card stock of Summer Sunrise (YUMMY) and Kraft. OMG let me tell you that I so {heart} the new Kraft paper. It is not like any Kraft paper I have worked with before. It is very smooth and THICK and a lovely shade. I also used Summer Sunrise Hybrid ink and CTMH
Chocolate ink. On the card I stamped the dots using Simple Stitches from CTMH. On the gift bag I stamped the compass from Father Knows Best in Summer Sunrise all over the tissue paper. I just love to stamp the tissue paper to match my bag. Well that is it for today. I sure hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Living Large Birthday

Hi Everyone, Thanks for coming by today. Wanted to share a card I made last night. Still working with the blue and green. I totally had out some pink paper to use but just gravitated to the blue and bright in your face green. The blue is Ballet Blue from SU and the green is Citrus Leaf CTMH. I still just LOVE this Living Large stampset from SU! I love layers on cards so went that direction. I random stamped the little flower in LL on the blue piece (cant see it well in the pic) Of course used an extra swirl piece I had on hand in White Daisy CTMH. I used the Creative Memories basic Black pen for all the dots. Outlined the image with my Prismacolor Warm Grey and colored her with CTMH Markers. Star Spangled Blue, Citrus leaf, Cocoa (hair), Cranberry (lips), Parchment (cheeks), Bubblegum (cake). I used a small scallop punch from The Paper Studio. TFL. Hope your day is wonderful!!

Quicky

Another quick playful card using those fabulous summer colors. I already had the White cs cuttlebugged in swirls so I just used the same wipe n swipe sponge from the other day. I really was just wiping off the extra ink and wanted to see how it would look over swirls. I thought it pretty neato mosquito so kept going. I stamped the CTMH Cottage Floral in Ocean {heart} and Sweet leaf, pop dotted the inside of the leaves and flower. I used Atomic lowercase by CTMH to spell out my own sentiment. That is it pretty much in a nutshell. Hope you like. Have a GREAT
day!

Summer Colors

oh, how I wish you could see these colors in real life. This lighting is stinky (humf)!I just so happened to be playing around in my happy place yesterday with the CTMH wipe n swipe and reinkers. I thought about summer and fun BRIGHT summer colors so I pulled out Cool Caribbean, Certainly Celery SU reinkers and Buttercup CTMH reinker. Loaded up the wipe n swipe and drug it across glossy card stock SU. It made this beautiful back ground. I new I wanted simple so I stamped in black CTMH ink with the A Friend Is CTMH stamp onto the swiped cs. Then I was brain dead. Just did not know what I wanted to do with it. Well today I was checking out Erica's blog 1creativelife and what do you know, she has a very similar color combo challenge on her blog. It immediately called to me so I ran into the happy place and finished putting this together. The cs is CTMH Sweet Leaf and Ocean (i heart that color) with a smidgen of Buttercup. Mental note, buy more Ocean cs. I added some "wish I were a dew drop" embellies and viola. Super simple but fun card. I makes me think of water and swimming. Nana, if you are reading this you and Pop should really get that pool!! Go check out Erica's blog she is one talented chick! Thanks for the visit.

Another Two for One Sunday

Oops. It has been a minute since I have posted. I had a bit of a busy weekend. FUN none the less but busy. Friday I spent the day cleaning the house and preparing for some girls to come over for a Tastefully Simple party. If you have never checked them out before you should because the food is WONDERFUL and the preparation COULD NOT be any easier. Saturday went shopping with mom and Pat at Providence in 95 degree heat. Gosh that will wear you out!!! We ate at the WOW Cafe and Wingery let me just say YUMMMY! I will be going back there fo-sho!
Today I am not feeling all that great I did get some exercise in and took Grace to get her hair cut. She cut off 12" and donated it to Locks of Love. I am so proud of her for doing that. She asked me about it and wanted to do it all on her own accord. Anywho.... here are a couple of cards I made this weekend. I know it is that same fun set from CTMH Lifes a Jungle but, dang
those animals are soooo cute. I used the Expedition paper pack from CTMH. One of the patterned papers is leaves so I cut them out to use as an embellishment. Worked out pretty well if I do say so myself. I colored the images with color pencils and Gamsol. I really like that technique especially since I do not have copic markers and only a few prismacolor. I added Chocolate stitched ribbon from Prima and Offray terracotta color. I used CTMH corner rounder with the guard off to make the scallops and CTMH bigger brads as an accent. The sentiments are from the awesome Say it with Style May SOTM from CTMH. Thanks for stopping by today.
Have a Super Monday!

Doodle Bird

Remember that super duper cute stamp of the month from CTMH last summer? Doodle bird alphabet. I pulled that set back out to play around and this is what I came up with. I used CTMH
Heavenly Blue and Taffy. Swiss dot cuttlebug folder and rectangle nestabilites. The ribbon is dots dashes and checks from Michael's and the flower brads I THINK came from Joann. The perfect color!! I colored the frame and bird with markers and the blender pen. When was the last time you got the blender pen out??? The sentiment is CTMH Say it with Style. Man I have been using that set like CRA-ZY!! Super simple card to whip up in no time flat! TFL
Craft ON!

Father's Day

Good Evening to you all!!!
It is that time to whip up a couple of Father's Day cards. What could be better for a
father-in-law that loves to go to the beach than a beach like card? I make this card after
my super hero markie'smom over at SCS you gotta check out her gallery she is AMAZING!
The layout is a sketch over at SCS also.
I used CTMH New Horizons and Say it with Style for the sentiment. I stamped the lighthouse
in black onto White Daisy then stamped the lighthouse again on scratch paper in Cranberry
then again in Outdoor Denim and then again in Sunflower. I then cut out only the pieces I
needed in each color and paper pieced it onto the main image. then cut the whole image out
It sounds like a lot of work but it really wasn't that bad because the cuts are pretty much
straight lines. I used those same colors of CTMH cs and layered each color onto Black cs.
I made the dots with my Galaxy Marker in Milky Way White. I make the black dots with
my Creative Memories Black pen. Used the oval shaped punch by SU to cut out the sentiment.
There is not a next size up from the large oval punch so I mounted it onto Outdoor Denim cs
and cut it out. Pretty good job for me since I cannot cut worth a POOP! Anyway I really enjoyed
making this card and I hope Big Daddy likes it. Faith aka Markie's Mom has a whole stankin'
gallery full of cards like this. Go see!
Have a FABULOUS day!

Life's A Jungle

Awwww! I LOVE this new set from CTMH. The elephant is one of the images from Life's a Jungle July SOTM. The sentiment is May's CTMH stamp of the month, Say it with Style!
I colored the elephant and flower with colored pencils then used gamsol to smooth it all out.
I love the soft look. The cs is CTMH Amethyst, Sweet Leaf and Sunkiss Yellow. I used my
handy dandy cuttlebug embossing folders oh, how I {heart} it so much. The fancy smancy ribbon
is some I picked up on clearance probably well over a year or two ago. Just waiting for the
perfect place to put it and I think I found it with this card!! TFL
