Congrats Greg and Michelle

Well, I finally finished it and the wedding is tomorrow!! I have thought of a gift set like this before but Taylored Expressions blog got me moving (See favorite blogs). I bought a naked box at JoAnn then painted it white. Let me go ahead and mention here that this couple is CRAZY UT fans, hence the orange and white. I lined the painted box with orange polka dotted paper I bought at Hobby Lobby (sorry did not get the makers name before I cut it up and glued). I adhered the paper inside the box with modge podge. I personalized their cards by printing their last name with the Heritage Font from (CTMH). Then stamped Mr & Mrs (PTI) in orange (CTMH) and stamped the decorative edging around it from Boxes Bags and Tags (PTI). Punched it out with the CM circle punch and punched out with the next size Orange cs (CTMH)
matted those together and ran a jump ring through it and attached to orange ribbon (Off Ray).
Used the super duper awesome Swiss dots folder for embossing the White Daisy cs (CTMH)
then matted that onto Orange. It is a simple but very elegant card. I customized the gift bag by covering it in the same paper that I lined the box with. I hope they love it. I know at least they will LOVE the colors. GO Big Orange!! Tell me what you think. Thanks for stopping by today!

May Blog Hop

Welcome to Papertrey Ink's May Blog Hop!!! This certainly is not my most creative card ever made but to me it is fresh and simple. Our challenge was to use score lines. Now, I do not have any kind of score tool except my Fiskars 12". I line up my paper on the track and run the bone folder along the track to my my score lines. I had a different idea in mind. One that involves wavy lines. I do have a CM wavy trimmer but when I ran the bone folder along the track it made the 1/4" marks on my paper as well. SO...I had to think of something else. I love diamond shape so I went with that. I know it is hard to see in the picture, sorry. I used PTI awesome new Lavender Moon, Lemon Tart and Aqua Mist ink and the Garden of Life stamp set. It really is a beautifully simple card IRL. I made a card just like this in Aqua mist Paper and then stamped Aqua Mist in onto white cs then layered that in between the score lines. You REALLY could not see the score lines in that pic though. I hope you are inspired. I cannot wait to see all of the other
creations be sure to check out the list of Blog Hoppers address here. TFL Have Fun!!

Yeehaw!!!

Howdy Folks!!! teehee. I am not really a country kind of girl but I love the new set from CTMH named....Yeehaw. I made the back ground paper from glossy card stock (by SU then stamped in CTMH black with the Adorable stamp set CTMH. I then used a white crayon (any light color will do) and made marks here and there around the paisley and circles. The next step was to brayer over the entire piece in Cranberry CTMH. the marks I made with the crayon "resisted" the brayered color. Too cool. I know this resist technique is not new to a lot of you but is it is still one
that I like to pull out of the vault once in a while. The bandanna look made me think of this set.
I stamped the cowgirl and yeehaw in CTMH black onto Colonial White cs CTMH. I matted the Yeehaw onto cranberry cs CTMH cut around it then matted again in black and cut around it. I pop dotted it for a 3-D effect (have i mentioned how i {heart} 3-D before?) smile. I cut out the fence and used the SU corner punch and pop dotted one of those layers and put some fun silver brads on it for a hardware look. Then I ran some twill ribbon CTMH around the card and in the knot I put a triangle shaped paper clip CTMH to make it kind-of resemble a dinner bell????
This was a fun card to make. I hope you like it too!!

Two for One Sunday

Goooood Morning!! Oh, I had such a great creative week-end. Even got the Happy Place cleaned up. I also worked on fininshing up a gift ensemble for a friends wedding. WOW! (I know, I say it louder...teehee). I have two different takes on the same card today. I used the SUPER cute CTMH set called Fun Times for the turtle and thier Happy Birthday set for the sentiments. The cs is all CTMH Indian Corn Blue, Sweet Leaf and Bamboo. Inks are all CTMH ICB,SL and Olive.
to get two colors on the turtle I stamped him in olive then on scrap paper I stamped him in Sweet Leaf then cut out just the shell and pop dotted it ontop on the main image. Used my forever favorite cuttlebug for the embossed paper. Used the SU photo corner punch for the corners. On one of the cards I pop dotted one layer of the photo corner and made the dots with the Galaxy Milky White Marker. The ribbon is Dots and dashed from Michales. I hope you like this as much as I do. TFL Have a WONDERFUL and SAFE Memorial Day. I have to work tomorrow. BOO!

Wedding Card #2

Greetings! OMG today was sooo busy at work and I had to put in 12 hours. What is it about a full moon that just brings out crazies??? Anywho, wanted to pop in and share another wedding card. This one is completely Wedding Day by Papertrey Ink. I stamped the background with one of the swirly images. I used the creative memories cutting system for the black round mat and the stamped border. Stamped a sentiment in the middle and pop dotted the matted frame. The ribbon is white decorative with a little gold thread running through it. I bought that at JoAnn. The paper is White Daisy CTMH and some unknown black textured I picked up at a LSS that is now closed :(
Hope you enjoy it. TFL

Happy Weekend All. What a fun weekend it was too. Friday my sister, husband and myself went to the Crawfish Boil downtown on the Riverfront. It was great. The weather was just a little cool but once you get down into the pit you warm up really quick. Yes, I said I went into the pit and
jumped around to the music just like I did 10-12 years ago. How fun. I really should get out more huh?? Well, I have a friend at work that has 6 weddings to go to this summer. WOW 6. I have only 2 to go to. She needed some wedding cards so I will be posting a few this week. This
is card one. I know I have stated before that Papertrey's stamps are sooo small. But sometimes
small IS good. I do love the simplicity of small stamps. I layered Black cs (not sure maker) Berry Sorbet PTI cs and White Daisy CTMH cs. I ran the white through the swiss dot cuttlebug folder, oh I just {heart} that folder. I stamped the flower from Boxes,Bags and Tags by PTI in Berry Sorbet then stamped the decorative circle "tag" in Black from CTMH. I punched it out with the
Creative Memories circle punch and punched out a larger piece of Black cs to layer it onto. You cannot tell in the picture but the ribbon is Berry Sorbet satin it is soooo smooth and pretty. I punched a 1/16 inch hole in the tag and attached it to the ribbon with a jump ring. It dangles and looks so pretty in real life. I stamped Love Blooms from Wedding Day set actually I think it was from a favor it Wedding day (some add on sentiments). Anywho. I hope you are inspired to make a beautiful simple card today!!!

Small Grosgrain ribbon is SU Apricot Appeal and Certainly Celery. Stamped the turtle "parts" in Garden Green from CTMH and stamped the solid part of the shell in Sweet Leaf. Stamped all of this onto White Daisy cs from CTMH and the swiss dot ribbon is from Dots and Dashes picked
up one day at Michales. Also used that awesome ticket punch from SU. I {heart} punches. Just makes life quick and simple!! Have a great day!

Bright Friendship

I was so inspired by Nicoles beautiful card here that I just had to case it. I had to use different stamps. I used CTMH Flutter, Playful Flourishes and a limited time set called From me to You.

I love how bright and cheerul the colors are. Used CTMH Watermelon and Sweet Leaf and White Daisy card stock. I just so happened to have this ribbon in my stash from Hobby Lobby and what do you know it goes perfectly!! I stamped with CTMH Watermelon and Sweet Leaf inks. I cut out the butterfly and pop dotted it for a 3-D effect. TFL

Have a GREAT day!!

My Mom Rocks!

Well, My Mom does rock but I am glad I did not give her this card for Mother's Day. She did not like it. What!!!!???? I do, it is however, more of a guy or teenager card. I plan on giving this one
to my friend Mark at work whos birthday is the 13th. There are alot of cards floating around on SCS that have stars and or circles. I love the look so I fashioned this one like those on SCS. I used ALL CTMH products. The designer paper is Free Spirit. Cardstock is Cocoa, the ink is Autumn Terracotta on the large star then rock and rolled in Indian Corn Blue. The stamp was from Star Struck. The letters are Delightful Alphabet stamped with White Daisy pigment ink. Okay, I guess i used a little non CTMH. I punched out the other stars and circls with the Creative Memories star and circle punches. The hemp is unknown brand and the brads are from JoAnn.
I hope you like this card. Have a great couple of days!!!

Scrumptious Summer Sunrise

Oh, how I love the newest PTI Summer Sunrise. This color just makes me happy. So why then
did I make a sympathy card with it? Unfortunately there are times when we need them and I
would hope the recipient would find a little sunshine in this fabulous color. I like to keep sympathy cards very simple. I used the awesome cuttlebug that just adds so much to a card.
You may not be able to tell in the pic but I layered 3 layers of the same color. How fun is that.
I also used CTMH White Daisy. The stamped images (flower and sentiment) is PTI Garden of Life. I also used PTI Summer Sunrise ink and CTMH Garden Green. And that fabulous thick
grosgrain ribbon? Also PTI Summer Sunrise. I hope you enjoy this card and it inspires you. I
got this layout over at SCS. Have a great day. TFL

See you later Alligator!

Awwww. Isn't this the cutest, ugliest alligator you have ever seen? I just {heart} him. He is part
of a set called Life's a Jungle which is CTMH July stamp of the month. I colored him with Topiary marker from CTMH. I stamped him onto Colonial White cs and also used Topiary cs
both CTMH. The distressed orange paper I think is BasicGrey. The orange brads are Bazzil.
The cream color brads are JoAnn. The little ribbon in the buttons is SU (I believe it is retired now?) The Happy Birthday sentiment is from CTMH Happy Birthday set. I stamped the tag
with the tag punch from SU. Oh, and the orange buttons are from Wal-Mart. We just collect
stuff from everywhere don't we? I hope you like him. Thanks for visiting today!! Oh for Pete's sake please don't forget the D'vine swirl embossing folder and cuttlebug!! How did we ever
make cards with out the cuttlebug??
